ANSWERS TO

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Palliative Medicine?
Palliative medicine is a specialized discipline of medicine which offers comprehensive care enhancing the well-being of patients and their families including all matters physical, psychiatric, emotional, social, spiritual and existential.

Palliative medicine works in partnership with your current health care team at any age, any stage of illness.

How Are the Services Provided?
Dr Lynn Nauman will come to your home, listen and assess your complex care needs. Your symptoms will be managed carefully and professionally.

Your current team of health care providers will be included in all decision making, as well as you and your family.

In Good Hands has business accounts with local labs, imaging and health care facilities, so we can confidentially send and receive faxes to these locations for your medical orders and results.

What if I'm Already in Hospice?
That’s just fine. Hospice is an excellent resource for you and our community. We have personal relationships with the various hospice teams in Bernalillo, Santa Fe and Rio Arriba counties. We are happy to consult with your hospice team to facilitate a plan that works for you.
What Is "Concurrent Care"?
Working with your other specialists, we help guide and interpret some of your medical questions. We support you, as you weigh the pros and cons of continued treatment. We are able to directly contact your providers to assure you have the most up-to-date information about your diagnoses, treatment options and prognosis.
How Do Palliative Telemedicine Appointments Work?
Once we have established care with you, we can conveniently set up telemedicine visits. It’s similar to making an appointment. Together we decide on a day and a time, and then we text you a link. This link through Doximity allows for a HIPAA protected video visit. We will conclude the visit with a summary of your assessment and plan. If needed, we will send a prescription to your pharmacy.
What Are Your Hours Of Practice?
Our business hours are Monday thru Friday, 9am to 5pm. If you text, call or email, we will respond as soon as possible. We are closed in the evenings and on the weekends but please know your call is important to us and we will get back to you as soon as we are able.
